New exciting addition to Ballybeg!

This year we will develop the beautiful old courtyard, renovating the coachhouse and stable buildings to create a new unique ceremony/blessing room at Ballybeg. This room will be tastefully decorated by Dominique Schefman, who has carried out all the interior design on both Ballybeg House and Grouse Lodge.

The Ceremony Room, which will be known as 'Symes' (named after the Symes family who built the courtyard in the 1700's), will be built inside the original stone walls, and will be finished with stained glass windows and atmospheric lighting. The room will have a medieval feeling to it… lots of candles and ivy to give it a distinctively rustic character.

Symes will be the perfect place for couples to get married, literally a stones throw from the house and gardens, and will be a fantastic spot for wedding pictures. Symes will seat up to 160 guests and will make an ideal setting for a religious or civil ceremony or blessing.

Update: The Symes Room has now received full planning permission and will be open for blessings and civil ceremonies from the end of September 2012. Any building work associated with this project will take place from within the courtyard itself and will have no negative visual impact on Ballybeg House and Garden.

Outdoor Wedding Blessings

For outdoor wedding blessings we now have a flowering walled garden which is ideal for the summer ceremonies. A centre aisle has been cut out through the grass, leading to a “wedding cake” tree planted squarely in the middle. In Summertime, the flowerbeds surrounding the lawn will be in full bloom and the entire garden will be awash with colour. Couples can use this space for an altogether different blessing.

Spring Wedding Offers

We are now extending our fantastic value Midweek Special Rate to Spring 2013. The Midweek rate will apply to all weddings held before March 15th.
