'Symes' - The Ceremony Room

Symes will be a new and exciting addition to Ballybeg.

This year we will develop the beautiful old courtyard, renovating the coachhouse and stable buildings to create a new unique ceremony/blessing room at Ballybeg. This room will be tastefully decorated by Dominique Schefman, who has carried out all the interior design on both Ballybeg House and Grouse Lodge.

The Ceremony Room, which will be known as 'Symes' (named after the Symes family who built the courtyard in the 1700's), will be built inside the original stone walls, and will be finished with stained glass windows and atmospheric lighting. The room will have a medieval feeling to it… lots of candles and ivy to give it a distinctively rustic character.

Symes will be the perfect place for couples to get married, literally a stones throw from the house and gardens, and will be a fantastic spot for wedding pictures. Symes will seat up to 160 guests and will make an ideal setting for a religious or civil ceremony or blessing.

We hope to have Symes available to couples for use by late 2012.
